Lime: Citrus aurantiifolia (Christm.)
Why Lime? The sharp and refreshing aroma of lime aromatherapy essential oil will float you off to a beachfront hut in the Florida Keys! A cleansing and refreshing citrus, lime essential oil is the perfect addition to your all-natural home cleaning kit.
Quality Assured: Our organic lime essential oil is responsibly sourced from Mexico. The essential oil is cold pressed from the peel of the unripe fruit; this is preferred for therapeutic purposes. Every batch of oil is Certified Organic by Oregon Tilth and produced without the use of genetic engineering, artificial fertilizers, or pesticides. Additionally, our expert aromatherapists here at the Apothecary Shoppe personally assess all of our oils—using touch, taste, smell, and lab analyses—to ensure that your essential oil is suitable for use and entirely free of adulterants.
Independent third-party lab reports including GC/MS and pesticide testing results are available upon request. Please send a request to apothecary@achs.edu and include the essential oil Latin name and lot number; results include a comparative analysis with ISO and the Pharmacopeia when available.

Benefits: Limonene is the primary aromatic constituent in citrus plants, including lime, which gives lime its iconic citrusy aroma. Lime essential oil is also a wonderful and refreshing oil to mix into homemade products such as an aftershave or aromatic room spray.
Regulatory Status: Lime essential oil is listed on the FDA Generally Recognized as Safe (GRAS) list.
How to Store Your Oil: Keep your essential oils stored in a cool dark place. Lime (and all citrus oils), pine, and juniper should all be stored in the fridge to prevent oxidation. If an oil spoils from heat and oxidizes, it can cause skin irritation.
